The acquisition is part of the city of Kuopio's project for service area reform, which aims at making work more efficient and improving data management and customer service. One goal of the project is to plan and implement an information system, which makes it possible to receive, manage and process information electronically in the city's processes and also archive it electronically.
According to the implementation plan, the acquisition is divided into three stages and the last of these will end at the end of year 2012.
The Kuopio City Group consists of the city, balance units, public utilities, subsidiaries, group's shareholding companies, foundations, associations, federations of municipalities, and regional units.
