Today, Fujitsu is one of the leading suppliers of solutions to the Danish municipal and regional market, with four of the six largest municipalities in Denmark: Copenhagen, Frederiksberg, Aalborg and Esbjerg.
The point of departure for the collaboration is to build the next generation of Fujitsu's eDoc solution on Software Innovation's 360° platform. This will make it possible to create a highly forward-looking and modern product offering for the Danish municipal and regional market. The combined municipal electronic case and document management solution is based on open standards, enabling integration with other specialized systems in which Microsoft Office and Outlook are provided in SharePoint.
For Fujitsu, the partnership agreement involves a number of advantages. Above all, it creates the opportunity to offer the market a modern municipal solution at a far earlier stage than had been planned.
"The wealth of functionality in 360° will fulfil the most demanding requirements of users in the municipal sector for document and workflow management. Instead of making enormous investments in developing an MS SharePoint-based eDoc 4.0 from scratch, we can use the comprehensive, reliable, and modern product offered by Software Innovation today. At the same time, Software Innovation is large enough and has the resources to invest in future product development," says Hans Iakob Estrup, CEO of Fujitsu.
"In addition, I can see exciting international perspectives in the longer term in the collaboration between Software Innovation and Fujitsu," says Estrup.
"For Software Innovation, the cooperative agreement is an important step in the company's partnership strategy and towards becoming a leading international software provider in the public-sector market for workflow and document management. Fujitsu's choice of 360° also confirms the product's leading position in its field, with respect to both the technology and the functionality of the solution," says Halvor Walla, Director of SI Software, Software Innovation's software unit.
"Software Innovation operates in an especially exciting market, which is growing. At present, the total market for information management in Scandinavia amounts to some 470 million euro – in 2011 it is estimated that this figure will be about 650 million euro," concludes Walla.
