Green IT attracts international attention Earlier this year, Software Innovation in cooperation with Microsoft and the City of Bergen received the award for the best green IT solution at Microsoft's Local and Regional Government Solutions Forum in Bilbão in Spain.
"Together, we have developed a unique solution for paperless processing in political organizations. This is attracting international attention with its elegant combination of 360° Politician's Workspace with Microsoft® Office OneNote® 2007 and Tablet PCs. The result is a pioneering concept for paperless administration that offers great benefits for the environment, productivity, control, and efficiency," explains Walla.
"By using its own products together with SharePoint and Microsoft OneNote®, Software Innovation has helped the City of Bergen to free itself from metre-high piles of paper and replace them with a solution that not only offers great benefits for the environment, but also results in major improvements in productivity and efficiency. It is an excellent example of an innovative solution based on standard software," notes Ødegaard.
Early commitment to Office 2010 For the past year, Software Innovation has made a targeted effort to implement its international positioning and partnership strategy as well as further development of innovative and specialized standard solutions for sectors including municipalities and government, health and educational enterprises, oil and energy, engineering, and construction. Now, Software Innovation will also be one of a few companies taking part in Microsoft's Partner Evidence Program for Microsoft's new Office 2010. The aim is to be able to launch new versions of the company's software at the same time as the launch of Office 2010 next year.
