ProArc Document Planning

The ProArc Planning module allows the user to assemble selected Documents into Packages, linked to Milestone Chains with percentages per achieved milestone for aggregating progress on Document and Package (Activity/CTR). Progress data can then be exported to the overall project planning tool. Original Planned, Planned, Forecast and Actual dates are handled, and forms the basis for progress measuring and reporting.

Every company that manufactures and sells one or more products plans its production in detail. All the components are assembled in the correct sequence, resources are used to the fullest, and the product goes through quality assurance before it is sold.

Organizations that produce documents and drawings as their main assets, like Engineering companies, often base their planning and reporting experience from previous projects. These organizations often get paid by progress, which requires accurate progress measurement.

The ProArc planning module gives you full control over planned, estimated and actual progress on drawings and documents. Resources can be added where the risk of delays becomes apparent, and documentation quality can be controlled throughout the life cycle. Mission-critical drawings and documents can be controlled in a specific and well-organized manner.

Instead of one person’s estimate of the status, ProArc Planning provides an actual progress percentage that identifies exactly where you are in document and drawing production.

In ProArc, documents can be grouped in document-packages, where plan- and progress-data for each document can be aggregated to the document- package- level. Progress-data for documents and packages is based on progress chains and related milestones.  For each document a set of milestones can be defined and planned.  As document production progress, actual dates could be set manually or automatically based on revision or distribution activities.  The user may customize the criteria that automatically set the actual date on a particular milestone. Progress data from the document- and document-package level can be transferred to the customer’s planning system.

The graphical workflow designer is used to define the processes to be automated, and business rules and decision points within the Process.
